Jayne Lewis is an accomplished singer/songwriter from the North east of England.  She has been singing since the age of 14, playing piano since the age of 11, and doing her best to teach herself guitar since the age of 20!

Jayne has 2 solo albums under her belt.  ‘Orange sky’ was released in 2004, after Jayne was signed up by the major Christian recording company, ‘Authentic Media’.  This signing was based solely on the strength of a rough demo, which was passed on to the A&R manager there.

Then after a few years, Jayne had accumulated enough equipment, talented friends, and expertise to produce her own second album, ‘Exactly where I am’ in 2009.  The D.I.Y label ‘Eclectic Records’ was set up by Jayne and the entire album (except for a few ‘live’ tracks) was recorded in her spare bedroom!

For more details and reviews on these albums please see the music pages on this site.  To hear some music visit -

Jayne has been involved in music since the young age of 8 when she took violin lessons at school.  Her love for music has grown continuously, so it was the obvious choice for her to take A – Levels in Music Practice and Music theory, followed by a degree in Music (with Philosophy), then in 2004 she took a PGCE, qualifying her as a teacher as well!

Jayne has been teaching in schools, colleges, theatre schools, and giving private tuition for ten years now.  Her main field is singing, both individual and group lessons, but she also teaches piano, and has been a lecturer on the Rock and pop BTEC courses in colleges.

For more information on Jayne’s teaching, or to book a course of lessons visit her tuition page to find out more and contact her via the contact page.

Jayne’s performing experience is vast and varied.  She toured the U.K for the first time at the age of 14, within the organisation ‘The Continentals’.  She toured with them as a solo singer for many years after that, visiting America, South Africa (twice) and of course all over the U.K.  At the age of 21 Jayne was asked to be a director of one of these groups.

Jayne has also sung for 11 years at the Keswick Convention, as an assistant to the Worship leader.  She has also performed her own concerts there in the main tent, as part of the Keswick programme, this includes her own material and also Jazz and covers, which are usually concerts held in the local pub/restaurant ‘Sweeneys’.

Jayne has also been privileged to be part of the worship team at Spring Harvest Word Alive, for about 9 years.  She was part of the ‘student celebration’ worship team in Skegness, and had the joy of working alongside some very well respected and talented worship leaders and musicians there, and also at Keswick.

Jayne had the honour of being invited to sing at the IFES international conference in Germany a few years ago.  Which was held in Aschaffenberg international stadium.  She had the privilege of singing to, and leading, tens of thousands of students from all over the world.

Other conferences include the NEAC congress, CCCF, Keswick in Lichfield, and the ECM conferences where Jayne was the Worship leader.  She is also one of the regular Worship leaders at her own church in Houghton – le – spring.

Aside from the conference world, Jayne also has vast experience doing her own concerts of her singer/songwriter material in churches, bars, and in other venues all over the U.K.  In 2010 she was the winner of the ‘North east singer/songwriter of the year’ contest, held in Gateshead.

She also has much experience singing rock and pop, and has toured with rock and pop covers bands.  Jayne also performs easy listening and Jazz material, which is mainly at weddings or in other venues such as hotels, bars and restaurants.  Obviously her years of classical training equip Jayne for singing more ‘classical’ repertoire too.
