Jayne currently teaches voice and piano to many students in the North east, as well as directing singing groups and choirs in schools, theatre schools, and community projects. She has twelve years teaching experience and is a fully qualified teacher with full CRB check. She has taught privately, in schools, Colleges and theatre schools since graduating University with a degree in Music and Philosophy in 2000.
Jayne teaches a wide variety of people, of all ages and various standards. Some of Jayne’s students have gone on to study at specialist performing arts academies, some have successful careers as performers in bands, and some have even had success in auditions for major theatre parts in London’s west end!
Jayne is dedicated to her own professional development and continually updates her own skills and repertoire, whilst still pursuing her own solo career as a singer/songwriter.
She independently released her third album ‘The Ordinary Things’ in 2011, her second album ‘Exactly where I am,’ in 2009, after releasing her first album ‘Orange sky’ back in 2004.
Jayne has specialised in vocal performance throughout her studies in music, and has grade 8 in classical Singing, Grade 8 in Musical theatre singing and Grade 8 in pop vocal singing, which shows her enthusiasm and expertise in many styles of singing.
Jayne won the ‘singer songwriter of the year’ north east contest in 2010 and was also was also appointed as an examiner for the London College of Music.
